Patrick William Fitzgerald Jr. is an American college football coach and former player, best known for his tenure as head coach at Northwestern University where he became the program’s winningest coach with 110 victories. A two-time All-American linebacker at Northwestern, he led the team to back-to-back Big Ten titles in 1995-96 before transitioning to coaching, becoming Northwestern’s head coach in 2006 at age 31.
